On June 3, 2024, we are about to welcome the second resident artist of the year - Daniel SLUSE, the dean of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Liège, Belgium. And on June 22, he celebrated his 70th birthday.

In the colorful world of painting art, Daniel SLUSE is undoubtedly a remarkable master. He is renowned for his unique artistic style and profound use of colors. Each of his works is like a story full of magic.

He can easily control the scale and combination methods of his artworks. He grasps the volume according to his mood and perception of the spatial field, and adjusts the combination, arrangement, and juxtaposition of the artworks themselves and within the space. Thus, he structures and deconstructs the artworks in new dimensions.

The images in his works enhance the visual light effect of the artworks through light, creating a "visual trap". This is a secondary reproduction facilitated by the environment. Factors such as light, air, and time coexist with the works, enabling people to deeply understand what "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts" truly means and engage in a dialogue with it.
