Werner Moron
Born in 1962
He lives and works in Liège, Belgium.
He graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Liège.
His approach to art is based on maintaining a permanent critical distance from the art market. As a multi-faceted and versatile artist, his work resists easy categorization. He is reluctant to describe himself as an artist in the way museums or galleries might understand. Werner Moron is primarily interested in human behavior and the intervention of society. For him, art is a way of being that reveals what we can no longer see and inspires the mind. That's why his artistic methods are manifested in the everyday life around him, in his neighborhood, on the streets, and in the news. From playful installations to concepts, the entirety forms a coherent whole.
In addition, he continues to write in order to uncover the linguistic origins of his stylistic creations, as well as to explore his obsession with language and its power of meaning. In this way, W.M.'s work clearly demonstrates his unmistakable political commitment, along with his decisive aesthetic and poetic sensibility.
