Currently lives and works in Liège, Belgium

Currently serves as a professor of sculpture at the École des Beaux-Arts de Verveille

Giuseppe Barillaro's paintings inherit a long iconographic tradition. He often depicts scenes of intense personal experiences or episodes that make a profound impression on him. He is deeply rooted in the environment where he grew up. This decisive environment makes him extremely sensitive and perceptive, and enables him to identify with and accept the values within it. Sometimes this feeling is expressed through pain, despair, and even joy and happiness. These are all vital aspects of life, including genuine family bonds and a beautiful environment. He seems to have quickly realized that it is inevitable to express this reality through painting, reinterpreting it and bringing it to life.
