Michel Leonardi
Born in Belgium in 1951, he currently lives and works in Liège, Belgium. He is a contemporary artist and architectural designer.
He teaches at his alma mater, the Saint - Luc Institute of Art in Belgium, and also serves as a consultant for public development projects.
In the early 1970s, he embarked on his career as a visual artist. During this period, he was influenced by the Expressionist Movement. In 1977, he established a lithography studio and collaborated with painters and poets to publish art books. As a founding partner of an architectural firm, his focus gradually shifted to integrating artworks into public spaces. However, at the same time, he continued his research in the fields of visual art and lithography.
Michel Leonardi endows color space with functional and emotional values, which is the core of his artworks. His color research is manifested in various forms and techniques, which immerses the audience in a sensory experience. Therefore, his painting research is applicable to architectural studios, furniture research, spatial color science, lighting, and scene design projects for exhibitions or public places.
His works are collected by private collectors in the province of Liège, the IKOB Museum of Contemporary Art, and in many countries such as the United States, Italy, Germany, France, Belgium, Portugal, Turkey, and Israel.
