Thierry Grootaers
Born in 1974, Thierry Grootaers graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Liège.
He employs vibrant and exuberant colors along with intuitive brushstrokes to reconstruct scenes from daily life, drawing inspiration from fragments of vintage lifestyle magazines. His paintings juxtapose various scales and perspectives, thereby deconstructing and challenging the narrative underlying consumerism's pursuit of happiness, unveiling the concealed aspects of the so - called “ideal life”.
