Daniel Sluse
Born in Belgium in 1954, Daniel Sluse graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Liège, Belgium in 1977. In 2024, he was engaged as the Beijing Brand International Communication and Promotion Officer.
He used to be a professor of sketch and printmaking at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Liège. From 2016 to 2018, he chaired the jury of the Xuyuan International Biennale. From 2007 to 2019, he served as the dean of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Liège. He is one of the founders of the Liège International Print Biennale and has served as its chairman for three terms. He is also a board member of the Higher Education Agency of the French - speaking Community in Belgium and a board member of the Liège City Art Museum.
Since 1979, he has held numerous solo and group exhibitions in over 20 countries, such as Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Poland, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and Russia. He has a significant influence in the international art community.
Sluse has been devoting himself to cultural exchanges between China and Belgium for a long time. He promotes cultural integration between the two countries and makes positive contributions to the mutual trust and interaction between China and Belgium. During the long - term communication and cooperation process, Sluse has developed deep friendships with Chinese artists and has shown great interest in and a strong sense of identity with traditional Chinese culture and art.
